VETERANS HELPING VETERANS
The camaraderie of veterans is the passion and force that stands behind the success of our veteran communities. That is the fundamental desire of veterans, to serve the needs of other veterans. It is in this context that we create an environment that fosters and encourages that desire providing the support and resources needed.
A NETWORK OF VETERANS
The more than 600 veterans living within the 40 VAHP related communities creates a substantial veteran network. This strength of numbers adds to the support and information available on services ranging from healthcare to training and education and other services as deemed necessary by the particular community. Additionally, our partnering veteran’s organizations add thousands of members and access to significant resources and support. Relationships with veteran organizations currently include:
- American Legion statewide
- Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) statewide
- Disabled American Veterans (DAV) statewide/western states
- Dept. of Veteran Affairs (Vet Centers)
- VA Medical Centers
The role of our partnering veteran’s organizations is to serve as conduits for the purpose of information dissemination and connection to veteran resources. Additionally, we wish to give our partnering veteran’s organizations, the opportunity to extend their benefits to our veterans.
AVAG is not a government organization. It is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) formed to help veterans who live in the forty Affordable Community Living and Santiago Communities Inc. in the western U.S.
